the dana family
i did portraits of the kids before, but this time i was able to do the whole family! i love their family - the kids are sweet and fun, and the parents are so calm even when there is a little craziness going on. and i still think courtney is super mom!

seth wanted his portraits taken while hiding in different trees all over!

this tractor was a big hit!

boston at random
i admit that i was kind of a slacker when it came to photos on our boston trip (i'm kicking myself now!) i really didn't take TONS like i should have! but i had fun and have enough for some scrapbook pages :)
the morning after we flew in, we headed to the aquarium on boston harbor. the kids LOVED it! i really liked this sea dragon thing - so cool!

they had an area where the kids could touch crabs and pick up starfish and other sea critters

this is the cute town hall center where i shot some of the other family portraits...

there had apparently been some incidents with the killer geese, but luckily they didn't seem to notice us much that day.

one day we went into boston to see boston commons and some other sights, and ashlee is so cute - she bought this book for my kids and read it in the boston commons and then pointed out all the places the book talks about. the kids love it and its now a favorite bedtime story! such a great idea for a memory of the trip!

these are statues in the commons of the mallards from the book

one day we made a trip out to newport, rhode island to see the famous mansions. we only ended up actually touring this one, but we drove around the other ones. this is the breakers mansion which used to be the vanderbilt's summer home. it is A-MAZ-ING! its over 100,000 square feet, and so the details are so intricate in every single room! this is the view from the balcony on the second floor. you weren't allowed to take pictures inside the mansion at all, so this is the only shot i got while "in" the house. one room was built in europe, taken apart, and shipped over WITH all the people to build it back again over here. and one of the fireplaces was from an actual castle!!

this is the backyard and back of the house.

i thought this driveway entrance was so cute - it was someone's house that we saw on our drive along the ocean.

i took a couple while i was waiting for my portrait family to arrive...and for your fellow californians or arizonians who are enjoying the 90 degree weather - THIS IS FALL

let me just say now that my pictures cannot convey how AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL it is out east, and thanks again to our friends for letting us visit!!

WICKED!!

ashlee and i were walking around the boston commons and started talking about wicked the play. then we passed the opera house and saw that it was playing!! so we went and bought tickets for THAT NIGHT! it was SOOOO GOOD! i can't even express to you how great it was. for those of you who haven't seen it - go see it! this was ashlee's third time, and she still loved it, and i'm already trying to talk my mom into going with me in LA over christmas!
blake took this picture of ashlee and i that morning while in the boston commons, and its the only one of the two of us that we took so i had to post it - even with the unflattering up angle of my face!
the lesueurs
the lesueurs are good friends of ours from arizona. they are living in boston right now, so we were so happy to get to visit them! we had so much fun, and were able to do some family portraits while i was there.
we saw this spot as we were walking to get cason from preschool - isn't it AMAZING? i loved boston, everything there is gorgeous!

the chamberlains
i did pictures for the chamberlain kids with their cousins on one of my last trips also, so it was fun to see them again - and the pictures that i had taken up in their house! we did an indoor shoot since the weather was pretty stormy, and it was great to have the kids in their own space with their favorite toys.

the wrights
i know i'm not writing as much about each family like i usually do - i LOVED all the families i worked with in utah - they were amazing! i am trying to get as many shoots up as possible while i'm still in boston, so i'm using my little breaks of time to post :) but i figure people are really here for the pictures anyways!

the marchants
i have been a total blog slacker! but i have a good excuse - i just finished another AMAZING trip to utah with so many great families AND i went pretty much straight to boston and am still here. so keep checking, i'm going to post a couple from each utah session, and then you'll see what's going on in boston!
this was my very first session in utah, and it was a little chilly! you can probably tell by the red noses and cheeks! it was definitely a shock to me coming from arizona with my flip flops :)

the ekbergs
this week is fall break for our school district, so i was able to do a family session during the day. we wandered around trying to get some of that great desert landscape, and i think we got some!

sam really liked the purple cactus.

i LOVE this one! it looks like they're out on the plains of africa or something!

thanks for braving the bright morning sun with me!

the radacks
i had such a fun shoot tonight with fab photographer jennifer radack's family. she gave me tons of freedom and they were all up for anything - which i definitely took advantage of! we went from railroad tracks to a junkyard, and then some other interesting little spots :) the thing i loved the most was that the kids were allowed to be themselves. if they didn't feel like standing together, they weren't forced. i love all the unique shots!

the ruddle family
one of the benefits of living in arizona is the predictable weather. last year i had to reschedule only one photo session because of the weather. on the day of the ruddle's shoot it was VERY windy. we talked about rescheduling, but wanted to try and get it done so we changed locations at the last minute hoping to have a little less wind! the boys were SO GREAT and sang songs and had fun during the whole shoot!

the bridge was a favorite spot for all the boys!

landon
i absolutely LOVE when i get to be a part of the changes in my clients' lives. i love to see your children grow, and new ones come along, and i feel like i'm more of a friend than just your photographer!
we got shots of landon both in and out of his mommy's belly :) here is the before... and here is now!

let me just say that there was a lot of love going on in this family! i could tell that morgan takes his big brother job very seriously, and is so sweet with landon!
